Tour Plan

Day 1 – Evening Departure from Dhaka

Your adventure begins in the bustling capital city of Dhaka. Between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM, our friendly representative will pick you up from your hotel or Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and transfer you to Dhaka Railway Station. Your guide will assist you with check-in and ensure you’re comfortably settled before boarding the Chitra Express at 7:00 PM, bound for Khulna, the gateway to the Sundarbans Mangrove Forest. Enjoy the scenic overnight train journey through the rural heartland of Bangladesh — passing tranquil rivers, emerald rice fields, and sleepy villages. Experience authentic countryside life from your air-conditioned sleeper cabin, designed for both comfort and privacy. Dinner can be arranged on board or before departure. During the journey, your guide will brief you about the coming days — the Sundarbans Forest cruise, Bagerhat heritage sites, and the wonders of Bangladesh’s UNESCO treasures. If your tour begins on Sunday, when Chitra Express is not available, we’ll arrange an equally comfortable A/C coach journey overnight to Khulna. Rest well — your wild adventure starts at dawn.

A trip of a lifetime.

Staying entrenched in the Mangroves with easy access from our boat to the channels and islands of the Subdarbans. We had many excursions on our flat bottom canoe -all of them brilliant..

Sundarbans Tour, great trip

Great experience to go through the larges mangrove forest by boat and stay overnight on the vessel on the rivers. Even though accommodation and facilities are very basic on board I really liked the trip. Mam Holidays was very helpful to arrange a day-time journey back to Dhaka. My guide, Mizan gave me a lot of valuable information during our stay in the Sundarbans.

5 day Sundarbans Tour

This was a magnificent tour, all that we wsihed for and more, although the tigers did not come to see us. From the moment we were met on the steamer in Dhaka to the end of the tour we were looked after in a friendly, professional way. The driver was good and managed traffic well. In Khulna we wandered round local shops with no hassle, feeling very safe. The smaller boat that took us round Sundarbans was great, a lovely atmosphere created by the captain who was excited when he showed us dolphins and a crocodile. The guides were knowledgable and knew where to find birds, deer and a tiger paw print. The boat staff kept the boat well, very clean, lovely food and staff were always aware of our needs. I would recommend this tour and Bangladesh as a fascinating, safe country to visit.
